Clooney has been recognized for the work she does on behalf of Nadia Murad, a Yazidi woman who survived ISIS abduction and imprisonment after her family was murdered by the group. Clooney has brought a case against ISIS. As she explained to NBC Nightly News, if you can "expose their brutality and corruption," it will be one step closer to shutting down the militant and murderous organization.

She is not only able to try cases in the U.S. and England and Wales, but The Hague and the International Criminal Court as well. Amal keeps her life as far under the radar as she can, being married to one of the most recognizable actors in the world. She works hard to give her twins a normal life, keeping their family out of the spotlight. She acknowledges, however, that if her fame can bring recognition to underrepresented groups and the people she represents, it can be a good thing. She often moves conversations with journalists from frivolous topics back to her work, devoting her press time to those without a voice.
