If you were a grunge rock fan in the early 90s, you probably dressed the part. Flannel shirts, combat boots and all. It looks like the uniform of anyone from Seattle is coming back and is now considered fashun.
It’s a pretty dramatic turnaround considering one of the leaders of the resurgence, Marc Jacobs, was actually fired from Perry Ellis for his now-iconic Spring 1993 grunge collection. And two makes a trend. Anna Sui is following suit by resurrecting her offering from that same season. But you don’t have to spend big bucks to get the look.
As if they have access to some sort of crystal ball, retailers are already offering up options that wouldn’t have looked out of place in 1992 — you just have to know where to look and what to pair together. So we went ahead and put together eight grunge-y outfits that’ll totally translate in 2019.
