7 Bathrobes to Help You Live Your Best #RobeLife

There’s no better feeling than slipping into something unrestricted after a long day in skinny jeans. And while yoga pants have their place in loungewear, we’re favoring something even more comfortable that is a movement as much as a loungewear choice.

We are, of course, talking about bathrobes, but those that are so comfortable, you wear them all day and in place of your pajamas. When it comes to robes, you need something that feels good and plush against your skin, but also has a consistent thread count and doesn’t feel cumbersome.

Here, the most breathable bathrobes you’ll never want to take off.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z Received a GLAAD Award for LGBTQ Advocacy

The award is given annually to a person, or people, who have made a difference in promoting the equality and acceptance of LGBTQ people. Before they received the award, actress Lena Waithe spoke of Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s efforts to support queer artists. Activist Janet Mock also emotionally recalled her casting in Jay-Z’s music video for “Family Feud,” and the platform it provided. Once they accepted the award, Jay-Z honored his mother, Gloria Carter, who publicly came out as gay in 2017. Beyoncé then dedicated the award to her uncle, who had previously died of HIV.

Animal prints appear to be the trend that just won’t die. You’ve probably already turned your closet into a mini zoo thanks to all the leopard- and snake-patterned pieces you’ve packed in there. But now it’s time to show your stripes.

Zebra prints on the Fall 2019 runways.

Zebra is the latest print to join fashion’s animal kingdom. Tastemakers like Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid are already sporting the pattern. (Kendall rocked zebra-print pants, while Bella stayed toasty in a zebra-print coat.) And the Fall 2019 runways featured tons of zebra-printed goodies, from Maryam Nassir Zadeh’s must-have boots to Proenza Schouler’s cut-out dress to 3.1 Phillip Lim’s wild coat that’ll surely be the cover-up of the season come September.

The good news is you don’t have to wait for the temps to dip back down to rock the trending pattern. Plenty of our go-to shopping sites (Zara, Mango, & Other Stories, etc.) have already stocked up on zebra everything. We’re talking eye-catching miniskirts, cropped tops, partially vinyl heels and mini bags.

Ahead, 20 zebra print picks that’ll have you looking fierce.

Claudia Schiffer, Grace Elizabeth and Sasha Pivovarova Pay Tribute to Karl Lagerfeld on Vogue China’s May 2019 Cover

Aside from the odd article and throwback photos on Instagram, there haven’t been any major tributes paid to Karl Lagerfeld since his death in February. But we have a feeling that’s all about to change with the arrival of the May fashion magazines. Vogue China’s May 2019 issue leads the way with a beautiful homage to the legendary designer. The magazine scored some of Lagerfeld’s favorite muses, Claudia Schiffer, Grace Elizabeth and Sasha Pivovarova, who pose wearing archival Chanel pieces on the newsstand cover (below), photographed by Camilla Akrans and styled by Daniela Paudice. Going the extra mile, the girls also star on three solo covers, Schiffer’s being made available exclusively online while Pivovarova’s and Elizabeth’s covers will feature in the digital edition (all pictured after the jump).

Members of our forums were in awe after checking out the covers. “Now that’s how to pay tribute to someone of Karl Lagerfeld’s stature. A real nice effort from Vogue China on this one, extra special to see Claudia Schiffer here and the outcome overall is simply beautiful. Claudia’s solo and the group cover would be the must-haves for me,” vogue28 said.

“What a wonderful way to pay tribute to Karl. Other magazines should be ashamed of themselves,” added dodencebt.

“OMG, I haven’t purchased Vogue China for a long long long time, but Idefinitely wanna buy this issue, so happy Claudia landed on VC, the casting can’t be more perfect! I love when magazines choose pieces from house’s archive for the tribute, not just pick from the latest collection,” chanelh admired.

Sharing the same sentiments was Nomar: “Great covers! All the girls look beautiful and it’s a nice tribute to see them using archival pieces.”

“Beautiful covers! All the girls look amazing, healthy and glowing!” raved nicknick.

SLFC couldn’t have agreed more, writing, “Everything is just perfect and flawless.”

In the same frame of mind was forum member Linnalu: “Amazing covers, the group shot is absolutely the best VC cover in years. Well done!”

H&M’s New Conscious Exclusive Collection Uses Sustainable Fabrics Made From Fruit and Algae

Image: H&M

As environmental issues continue to be crucial, fashion brands are striving to adopt more sustainable production practices. H&M, one of the world’s most influential fast fashion brands, has participated in numerous environmental initiatives over the years, including the Ellen McArthur Foundation‘s global commitment to reduce plastic pollution. The brand also launched an eco-friendly line in 2012 and an eco-friendly denim collection for Spring 2018. Now, as part of its sustainability efforts, H&M is launching the Conscious Exclusive collection for Spring 2019.

“For this collection, we explored the beauty in nature, which shows in the prints, as well as the flowy silhouettes, the striking color palette and the attention to detail. We’re thrilled to introduce new plant-based sustainable materials to create high-performing, beautiful and fashionable pieces that are statement-making yet so easy to wear,” creative advisor Ann-Sofie Johansson said in a press release.

Inspired by nature, the Conscious Exclusive collection includes pantsuits, dresses and shorts in soft, feminine silhouettes perfect for all occasions. The pieces are made with innovative sustainable materials including a natural leather alternative made from cellulose fibers extracted from pineapple leaves, a plant-based flexible foam using algae biomass and sustainable silk-like fabrics made from citrus juice by-products. Other materials used include recycled polyester, organic cotton, organic linen, organic silk, TENCEL™ lyocell, recycled plastic, recycled glass and recycled silver.

Halima Aden, Amina Adan and Ikram Abdi Omar Shatter Stereotypes on Vogue Arabia’s Triumphant April Covers

It was just last month that Vogue Arabia celebrated two years of publication with Gigi Hadid, and the magazine isn’t showing any signs of ditching its boundary-pushing aesthetic just yet. Always one to highlight their culture (which can, unfortunately, be a rarity), Arabian Vogue welcomes Halima Aden, Amina Adan and Ikram Abdi Omar onto the cover for April 2019. The trio of Hijab-wearing beauties shatter stereotypes in a series of four celebratory covers.

Photographed by Txema Yeste and with Katie Trotter on styling duties behind-the-scenes, the girls pose together in cover one (below) and each goes solo on the remaining bold, unique and distinctive covers (pictured after the jump).

Members of our covers were intrigued. “Wow, striking! Particularly like the contrast. A minor quibble would be to just zoom it out a tad more to see the fashion and make it look like the white space is, in fact, three separate bodies. But it’s a great shot nevertheless. Wish Ugbad [Adbi] also got this cover,” voiced Benn98.

“Wow I love this! Where is Ugbad though? Halima looks AMAZING! Stunning cover,” chimed in RMDV.

“Beautiful cover, has a slightly classic/vintage vibe to it but it also feels very current,” Wintergreen admired.

“It’s just a gorgeous cover shot, the art direction is a bit too UK Vogue, but they all look so beautiful, and content, I like it,” approved Miss Dalloway.

Sharing the same sentiment toward the stunning outcome was mepps: “All of the covers are gorgeous. Every single one of them!”

Srdjan sure liked what he saw too, raving, “God, Halima is so stunning! That solo portrait of hers reminds me a lot of Kate Moss’s picture for Love by Mert & Marcus but she might look even better here! Can’t look away!”
