Nicole Kidman’s Vanity Fair Cover Gets Mixed Reviews
It’s safe to assume we’re not the biggest advocates of Vanity Fair under Radhika Jones. She kick-started her tenure with Jennifer Lawrence back in 2018 and only managed to capture our attention with the title’s annual Hollywood issue. After an uneventful Beto O’Rourke offering last month, Vanity Fair is back doing what it does best. The mag profiles none other than Nicole Kidman for May 2019 serving us major retro glam. Photographed by Collier Schorr and styled by Samira Nasr, the actress sports a slicked-back hairstyle and a statement lip, both perfectly complemented by a Prada dress and diamonds from Chopard and Tiffany & Co.
In the eyes of some of our forum members, however, the cover was another setback for Vanity Fair. “It’s something about the hair that ruins it,” said mikel the second the cover dropped.
“Man, it really bugs me how often they ruin Nicole on covers these days, especially since she is so incredibly photogenic!” added Miss Dalloway.
“Looking bloated, did she do something again or is it Photoshop?” asked Nymphaea.

“Her face looks bloated as hell. Not sure if it’s Photoshop or fillers. Terrible picture of a beautiful woman,” mepps declared.
Also unable to give praise was Benn98: “The Photoshopping is criminal and overall the cover just leaves me cold.”
“I can appreciate them trying something different, but this misses the mark for me,” admitted lelaid.
“Half of her face looks beautiful, half looks oddly Photoshopped and bloated. I do like the color scheme, especially for a May issue it feels a bit different and I think the colors will pop on newsstands,” reasoned KINGofVERSAILLES.
In the same frame of mind was vogue28: “A vast improvement from recent Vanity Fair covers and I am all for seeing Nicole Kidman. I do like how old-school the cover feels, the muted red background teamed with the white fonts and the retro-glam styling…”

6 Wearable Glitter Eyeshadows You Can Rock Day or Night
Hourglass
Scattered Light Glitter Eyeshadow, $29 at Barneys
This weightless, light-reflecting shadow is infused with micro glitter, which provides a sheer, crystal-like coat of sparkle. You can use it on already-lined eyes to add drama.
Tom Ford
Shadow Extreme – Glitter Finish, $36 at Bergdorf Goodman
The trick with colored eye glitter is to tread lightly. Use a fine-tipped wand or your fingers and start along your lash line. Powder glitters, like this Tom Ford pick, are usually super blendable and can be wiped away easily.
Urban Decay
Moondust Eyeshadow, $22 at Nordstrom
If you want some prominent shimmer but prefer a fine, dusted texture over a creamy version, these shadows are perfect for you. There are nine shades that can still easily slot into your summer eye looks.
Anastasia Beverly Hills
Loose Glitter, $15 at Nordstrom
Light and loose glitter is always great for adding an accent to a glow-up. The best part about these ultra reflective metallic glitter shades is that they're buildable and very easy to moderate.
Milk Makeup
Glitter Stick, $30 at Sephora
Although not technically an eyeshadow, Milk Makeup's Glitter Stick is an easy way to add subtle shimmer to your lids. It has coconut and avocado oils along with mango butter for a super hydrated, creamy gloss.
Bobbi Brown
Sparkle Eye Shadow, $36 at Bergdorf Goodman
This featherweight eyeshadow formula has an amazing powdery texture. You can even use it as a sheer base to add a hint of even glow to your lids in daytime. Plus, it doesn't crease and can be used for highlighting the edges.
Who doesn’t want to wear eye glitter all day, every day? But unless we’re working the Coachella circuit, we usually reserve glitter for our night-out makeup. But glitter eyeshadows can actually be worn in daylight if you know how to do it right.
While MAC and Fenty Beauty’s glitters are extra and superbly glowy, there are some toned-down, shimmery eyeshadows that easily transition from day to night. Tom Ford, Bobbi Brown and others offer options featuring creamy or powdery textures that add a polished finish to your eye makeup.

21 Men’s Fashion Blogs You Need to Know in 2019
Guerreisms
Photographer Karl-Edwin Guerre has been snapping street style pics since 2008 and his sense of style rivals anyone on the other end of his lens. He definitely dresses to impress, but there’s a certain nonchalance to it all. Visit his blog for unique inspo on how to suit up without looking stuffy. His Insta is also chock-full of sartorial goodies.

Duc DuBois
When he's not styling for GQ, The New York Times, Vogue or Esquire or taking in the latest shows, pattern savant Salomon Thiombiano plays fashion critic and shops out his closet on his eponymous (fledgling) blog.

Joey London
This London-based Zayn Malik look-alike fills his blog (Joey London) with loads of fashion, fitness and travel tips. There's so much to appreciate: the clean, minimalist looks, the backdrops (lots of exotic beaches and azure waters), the writer's gorgeous washboard abs...

Fashion Beans
Fashion Beans, an online magazine/mecca for stylish men, is equally committed to both quantity and quality. To wit: there's a designated "Grooming Editor" (who also writes for The Telegraph and Men's Health) and there's a full vertical devoted solely to watches. Chic.

Isaac Likes
New Zealand-born, New York-based fashion writer and DJ Isaac Hindin-Miller (of Isaac Likes) begins each of his refreshingly concise posts with a cheery, "Hey, gidday mates!" As for Isaac’s sartorial style, we’d call it Venice Beach meets James Dean meets J.Crew.

Bright Bazaar
Bright Bazaar is a great blog to follow if you love colorful fashion and equally colorful interior design. (Founder and Amazon best-selling author Will Taylor lives by the mantra "beige is boring!") In his many (nine) years of blogging, Taylor has garnered attention from ELLE Decor, Refinery29, BuzzFeed and The Huffington Post, among others.

Trend Styled
Like so many of his fashion-blogging peers, Saul Carrasco of Trend Styled spends much of his time traveling the world on various brands' dimes. Not only does that mean his street style shots are to die for, he's also an expert in on-the-go skin care.

Your Mirror Style
Though Your Mirror Style founder Lorenzo Liverani has an extensive client list (which includes Christian Dior, Chopard, Calvin Klein, Gap, Levi's, Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland), he’s neither a content-vomiter nor a follower of trends. "I want to prove that to dress well, you do not need to masquerade and conceal your true personality, with careful color, fabric and layer combinations, anyone can achieve a great look that complements and emphasizes their true character," writes the blogger.

Mr Porter
When it comes to men's fashion blogging, no one does it better than Net-a-Porter's brother site, Mr Porter. Product-plugging aside, the retailer's editorial endeavor is full of A-plus content, from keen-eyed trend roundups to how to care for your hair. Good stuff.

One Dapper Street's Marcel Floruss is a self-professed "German dude who loves fashion and all that goes with it." What My Boyfriend Wore
What My Boyfriend Wore was actually the brainchild of South African blogger Sergio Ines' former girlfriend, who used to post pictures of his outfits on Instagram. It's since become a buzzy menswear blog for dapper dandies everywhere.
Image: @whatmyboyfriendwore
Not every fashion blogger is a 20-something female with an unhealthy Gucci obsession. In fact, the newest crop of blogging sensations are selfie-savvy dapper dandies, following in the footsteps of industry trailblazers like Bryanboy. We rounded up some of the most stylish kitten heels that will give you and your outfit a pain-free boost.
