Natalia Vodianova Serves Timeless Glamour on Tatler’s March 2020 Cover

We’re always down for some timeless glamour and Tatler feeds our need with its elegant March 2020 cover. Over the last 12 months, the British publication has steadily become a total must-read delivering delightful covers like the ones starring Joan Collins and Elle Fanning. Now Natalia Vodianova takes to the cover with the Russian supermodel serving glamour and elegance with ease wearing Christian Dior haute couture, courtesy of Sophie Pera, before the lens of Victor Demarchelier.

What more could we possibly ask for? “Beautiful! Tatler is on a roll lately, most covers have been stunning,” applauded dodencebt.

“Yeah I’m loving this. It’s reeeeaaaallly reminding me of the sort of cover that Eva Herzigova always slays. Natalia looks gorgeous…” added happycanadian.

“Natalia has one of the most beautiful faces I’ve ever seen. I love it, glad to see her on a cover again,” declared jorgepalomo.

“The cover looks very U.K. Vogue under Alexandra [Shulman], in fact it reminds me of Lily-Rose Depp’s December 2018 cover. Nothing special, but not awful by any stretch,” wrote Benn98.

“Very British Vogue under Alexandra Shulman indeed, which is perhaps the reason why I’ve been so fond of Tatler lately! Yet another cover that I absolutely love here — will never complain over the sight of Natalia Vodianova and some timeless glamour,” shared vogue28.

Forum member liberty33r1b simply described the cover as “stunning” and we couldn’t agree more.

Check out Natalia’s accompanying cover story and share your thoughts here.

Emilio Pucci Fall 2018

New York and London Fashion Weeks haven’t even started, but we’re already excited for Milan Fashion Week thanks to Emilio Pucci’s announcement that Christelle Kocher of Koché will serve as guest designer for the brand’s Fall 2020 collection. The collaboration stems from the fashion house’s evolving creative strategy to rely on creative voices to “deliver innovative interpretations of Pucci’s heritage prints, lifestyle and collections,” according to WWD.

The iconic Florentine house and Kocher are a perfect fit since both love vibrant prints and patterns. We’re expecting to see a cohesive blend of Pucci’s elegance and Kocher’s streetwear savvy. As to what happens after this season, well, we’ll just have to stay tuned to see which designer follows in Kocher’s footsteps.

Make sure to check out Pucci’s Fall 2020 show on February 20 to see the collab come to life.

Anok Yai Steals the Spotlight From Mica Argañaraz and Othilia Simon on Vogue Germany’s Trio of February 2020 Covers

It’s no secret that Vogue Germany hasn’t been our magazine of choice over recent months. The German fashion bible failed to excite during its 40th anniversary celebrations last year and closed out 2019 with unimpressive and lackluster Gigi Hadid and Rianne Van Rompaey covers. After the January issue completely flopped on our forums, Vogue Germany’s second attempt of 2020 arrives in the form of a trio of covers for February 2020. Anok Yai, Mica Argañaraz and Othilia Simon front the issue flaunting leather looks of the season from Balenciaga, Prada and Bottega Veneta for the Gregory Harris-shot covers.

Vogue Germany February 2020 : Anok Yai, Mica Arganaraz & Othilia Simon by Gregory Harris

IMAGE: VOGUE.DE

One cover really stood out. “Anok’s cover looks surprisingly stunning! The best of the lot. Clever move not to add any jewelry to it. My second favorite is Othilia. But her hair is too big for such a laid-back outfit. Awful art direction!” said Benn98.

“I really love these. Anok stole the show,” raved MON.

[ Not a tFS forum member yet? Click here to join! ]

SLFC couldn’t agree more: “Anok’s cover stole the show. So good in fact I hardly noticed the bad layout.”

“Anok looks fierce as ever. I’m loving her cover. Straight to the point, I could almost forget about the wonky layout. Othilia’s fine as well. It could easily pass for a Vogue Paris cover,” Valentine27 chimed in.

“Othilia has the best cover, but the text ruins it,” voiced anlabe32.

“My immediate fave is the Othilia Simon cover — love the beauty styling, the Bottega Veneta and it’s honestly just lovely to see Othilia on the cover of Vogue (Simon is already overdue the cover of Vogue Paris),” pointed out vogue28.

From Michael Kors Collection to Stella McCartney, Here Are the Best Spring 2020 Ad Campaigns

Images: Courtesy

All the major fashion houses have been pretty busy revealing their advertising campaigns for the Spring 2020 season with stellar results. So what makes a brilliant ad campaign? A diverse cast? The photographer? A total change in direction from the previous season? Or maybe, just maybe, it’s all three.

Since we’re huge advocates for diversity, we think choosing the right cast is the secret to success. South Sudanese-Australian model Adut Akech already has campaigns for Alberta Ferretti, Valentino, Fendi and Moschino under her belt. Rising star Mona Tougaard (of Somalian, Ethiopian, Danish and Turkish heritage) is the face of Chloe and Ports 1961 and, at 49, modeling royalty Naomi Campbell is finally the face of Vivienne Westwood.

Here are our favorite campaigns of the Spring 2020 season.

Vogue Japan’s Model Extravaganza Makes for a Disappointing March 2020 Cover

We’ve been experiencing a Vogue Japan by Luigi & Iango drought since last August, but a little rain has finally come our way with the unveiling of the mag’s March 2020 issue. The photographic duo has been behind some of Japanese Vogue‘s best covers over recent years complete with cover stars like Kim Kardashian, Kaia Gerber, Namie Amuro and Gisele Bündchen. For March, the title gives us all the models we can handle with Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Joan Smalls, Edita Vilkeviciute, Doutzen Kroes and Sui He making up the cast each wearing a look from Stella McCartney’s Spring 2020 collection (picked by Anna Dello Russo) surrounded by a floral illustration by Thierry Perez.

Vogue Japan March 2020 by Luigi & Iango

IMAGE: VOGUE.CO.JP

But the cover didn’t hit the spot for our forum members. “This looks like a horrible fan-designed cover. The lost potential…” proclaimed Nomar.

“Well that’s a letdown,” added marsnoop2.

“Oh, it’s way too busy. I can’t even look at it for long,” said whippie.

[ Not a tFS forum member yet? Click here to join! ]

“I think it’s hilarious that Luigi & Iango shot this for an ‘All Natural’ cover. Nothing screams ‘natural’ more than a bunch of Photoshopped supermodels with bleached eyebrows,” mocked mikel.

Marc10 shared the same sentiment: “It’s always astonishing how they manage to suck every bit of personality from the models and turn them into plastic clones.”

“Looks like a snake pit of supermodels,” declared tigerrouge.

“Everything is far too clashy. Why not just give us a portrait shot of one girl (Edita!) and call it a day. The only one who benefits from this cover is the brand because those dresses are all in full view,” called out Benn98.

The accompanying cover feature is a total must-see. Check it out and share your thoughts here.

8 Silk Pillowcases to Help You Wake Up to Healthier Skin and Hair

You’ve probably got your nighttime skin care routine down pat. Cleanser, moisturizer, serum, eye cream and maybe even one of those trendy sleeping masks. But what if we told you that there’s something else you can do to increase the efficacy of all those essentials?

A silk pillowcase is the easy way to ensure your skin care routine does what it’s designed to do. Unlike their cotton counterparts, silk pillowcases are friction-free so they don’t tug or stretch your skin as you’re catching your zzzs. That means no sleep creases that can turn into wrinkles. Silk can also help your skin care products stay on your face instead of the pillowcase so they can actually do their job.

And they’re not just good for your skin. Silk pillowcases also cut down on frizz and the dreaded bedhead. That’s because the smooth fabric lets your hair move without building up static electricity. They’ll also help your blowout stick around longer.

Now that we’ve made the case for silk pillowcases, it’s time to get shopping. Here are the eight best ones that’ll help you sleep soundly knowing your skin and hair are in good hands.

Irina Shayk Poses in Pink Prada for British Vogue’s March 2020 Cover

Edward Enninful has championed a whole host of faces throughout his tenure at British Vogue (everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Madonna to Kaia Gerber to Naomi Campbell). Now he gives Irina Shayk his seal of approval with the unveiling of the title’s March 2020 cover. The Russian beauty has been on top of her game lately, having just appeared on the cover of her native Vogue Russia, fronted Vogue Japan last month and is the current face of Max Mara. Captured by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott with Enninful on styling duties, the model wears a pink Prada number in the ethereal cover shot for the mag’s big spring fashion edition.

UK Vogue March 2020 : Irina Shayk by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott

The cover quickly divided our forums. “Ooh, love this! Gorgeous soft spring palette and Irina looks radiant and fresh,” appreciated aracic.

“It’s actually a beautiful cover! Very saccharine yet still fashion-forward. Will definitely get this for the cover alone,” said Benn98.

“It’s fresh, it’s clean and it has a real fashion model on its cover,” noted crmsnsnwflks.

[ Not a tFS forum member yet? Click here to join! ]

But not everyone was thrilled. “Wax figures at Madame Tussauds look more alive than this. They really did Irina dirty here. I do like the backdrop and the pink Prada looks fantastic. I just think it’s an incredibly unflattering shot of Irina,” called out KINGofVERSAILLES.

“She looks kind of creepy here. And not in an interesting way,” disapproved tipi1355.

“The more I look at it, the less it works for me. There’s something in Irina’s eyes that is so sleepy, the shot looks very empty with pink on pink and the masthead seems strange,” proclaimed apple.

“At first glance I really liked it, but then I looked at Irina’s face for more than a second and started to notice the sleepiness of it all. The hair is really hideous as well, I just don’t get it,” voiced dodencebt.

Long Denim Skirts to Invest in Now That Will Pay Off Come Spring

Celine Spring 2020

Celine Spring 2020; Image: Imaxtree

When it comes to denim skirts, most of us favor the mini variety. But designers are looking to expand our sartorial horizons and our hemlines. The Spring 2020 runways were full of (mainly) midi inspo, from Celine to Stella McCartney to Givenchy. And these aren’t your traditional jean skirts. Patchwork patterns, acid washes and frayed edges make the recent stock of long denim skirts thoroughly modern.

Stella McCartney Spring 2020

While midis were the length of choice, we’d like to make a quick pitch for the maxis. Maxi denim skirts make great transition pieces since they cover your legs (though you may still have to layer leggings underneath on those bitterly cold days). Come spring, you can top them off with a tee and add some flats to welcome the warmer weather in style.

Check out the slideshow below to see our picks for the best long denim skirts to wear now and later.

Jeremy Scott Is Skipping New York Fashion Week Fall 2020

Jeremy Scott Fall 2019

Image: Imaxtree

The New York Fashion Week Fall 2020 schedule keeps getting less and less crowded. Tom Ford is opting to show in Los Angeles (two days ahead of the Oscars), Tommy Hilfiger is headed to London and big names like Pyer Moss aren’t even showing this season. Now comes word that Jeremy Scott has decided to ditch New York in favor of Paris.

It was just announced that instead of presenting his Fall 2020 show in the Big Apple on February 7, the designer plans on debuting his latest collection during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in July to “pay homage to the city that launched his design career.”

With so many NYFW staples missing, it’ll be interesting to see which of the remaining designers shine brightest.

The Hadid Sisters, Kaia Gerber, Adut Akech and Imaan Hammam Give Glam Rock New Meaning in Moschino’s Spring 2020 Campaign

Steven Meisel can do very little wrong when it comes to magazine covers, fashion editorials and advertising campaigns. At least according to our forum members. Meisel has been working with Moschino since 2014, brilliantly highlighting Jeremy Scott’s collections in fabulously camp campaigns. Last season we were treated to a Dynasty revival and the 80s theme continues for Spring 2020 with Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Kaia Gerber, Adut Akech and Imaan Hammam rocking out as Moschinorama serving us 80s girl group realness in the stylized campaign images. The “band” even performs Karla DeVito’s “Cool World” in the campaign videos with Tyra Banks making surprise cameos.

IMAGE: FASHIONGONEROGUE.COM

The campaign took our forums by surprise. “Tyra Banks by Meisel. That’s all we needed. Instead we get the most predictable casting choice of the season,” commented helmutnotdead.

“Tyra and Meisel is one reunion I didn’t know I needed until now. Everyone did an impeccable job here, Moschino really has some of the most exciting campaigns every season. Meisel and Jeremy are on a roll!” praised aracic.

“Meisel and Moschino campaigns give me life!” declared dodencebt.

[ Not a tFS forum member yet? Click here to join! ]

Urban Stylin felt the same way: “I love how campy and retro it is!”

The videos were clearly stealing the spotlight from the print ads. “Something is missing from the images for me, the videos are way more exciting,” noted tipi1355.

“Disappointing. After the video I expected more and singing people don’t photograph well,” said anlabe32.

“So literally this is a failed campaign. The momentum would skyrocket and the media would eat it up had it been Tyra in the ads,” shared TaylorBinque.

10 Best Beauty Looks From the 2020 Grammy Awards

The Grammy Awards are all about going to extremes and that even extends to beauty. While the makeup and hair weren’t as OTT as previous years, there were lots of stunning lewks to fawn over. From pretty pink pouts to old school waves to bedazzled nails, some attendees’ beauty looks almost upstaged their outfits. Even in the midst of all the eye-catching makeup that wouldn’t seem out of place up on the runway, there was one artist who basically decided to go au naturel.

Here are the 10 best beauty looks from this year’s Grammys that we’re dying to try.

Gigi Hadid Stars on Vogue Russia’s ‘Juvenile’ February 2020 Cover

Gigi Hadid tied Adut Akech for the top cover model of 2019 title and now Gigi’s first cover of 2020 has dropped. Following in the footsteps of her sister Bella Hadid, Claudia Schiffer and Irina Shayk, Gigi finally makes her debut on Vogue Russia for February 2020. A far cry from her last Vogue cover appearance on Vogue Germany, the glamour is stripped back with the current face of Max Mara sitting on the studio floor wearing Christian Dior in the Zoey Grossman-shot image.

Vogue Russia February 2020 : Gigi Hadid by Zoey Grossman

IMAGE: VOGUE.RU

But the cover failed to impress the majority of our forum members. “This is very juvenile for Vogue. Clearly not a fan,” voiced Valentine27 the moment the cover came to light.

“Agreed, I think a location would have given it more character. Because as it is, the cover is just meh. Not bad, not great,” said Benn98.

“It’s an OK cover, certainly not one of Gigi’s finest newsstand moments, but certainly not the worst. A bit too juvenile,” echoed vogue28.

[ Not a tFS forum member yet? Click here to join! ]

“Why did they try and make her look like she’s 16?” wondered Nomar.

Forum member tigerrouge wasn’t a fan: “It feels like a 16-year-old experimenting with poses in front of the mirror in her room.”

“I like it, it’s very Russian, but also with a side of LOVE magazine. I might just be very biased though, I am a big fan of Zoey Grossman,” praised SLFC.

“She looks pretty good. The natural hair and makeup on her is very pretty,” declared dior_couture1245.

Slightly More Hits Than Misses at Paris Fashion Week Spring 2020 Haute Couture

Images: Imaxtree

It’s the most wonderful time of the year — haute couture fashion week. And while there was plenty of buzz off the runways, from Jean Paul Gaultier announcing his retirement to Balenciaga deciding to give haute couture another go, it was the clothes shown on the catwalks that really stole the spotlight.

Gaultier pulled out all the stops with a collection of his best works modeled by everyone from Gigi Hadid to Dita Von Teese. All eyes were also on Virginie Viard as she presented Chanel’s second haute couture collection under her tenure. The fashion pack flocked to the Valentino show where Pierpaolo Piccioli served up a collection filled with bursts of color and gowns adorned with playful and unexpected twists.

As usual, our forum members kept close watch and weren’t afraid to share their opinions. So here are their picks for the best and worst of the Spring 2020 Haute Couture collections.

All the Street Style Inspo You Can Handle From Paris Fashion Week Spring 2020 Haute Couture

Images: Imaxtree

It’s once again time to drool over all the street style looks captured outside the haute couture shows in Paris. We hate to play favorites, but let’s be real: haute couture street style is the best of the bunch. This season attendees were all about fuzzy (and warm) outerwear in varying shades and patterns, decidedly weird silhouettes (like collars that hit the navel) and, as always, the best shoes around. It’s like a breath of fresh air at the end of an otherwise dull month.

Elle Fanning Delivers Another Great Cover for Marie Claire’s February 2020 Issue

No one sings Marie Claire‘s praises louder than our forum members. At the end of last year, the American title was on a bit of a roll thanks to stellar covers featuring Regina King, Awkwafina and Cara Delevingne. Shot by Thomas Whiteside with Joseph Errico on styling duties, the actress poses for a beautiful portrait shot for the newsstand cover (below) and delivers another stunner for the subscribers’ alternative (after the jump).

“Elle always looks like she’s having the absolute best time on these shoots and truly loves fashion, unlike some of her acting contemporaries. The joy jumps out,” said KINGofVERSAILLES.

SLFC shared the same sentiment: “Elle Fanning always makes a good cover.”

“Thomas Whiteside has become a total credit to Marie Claire over recent years, his portraits are beautiful and this cover right here is a prime example. I do love that shot of Elle in the hat, but perhaps it wouldn’t have worked as well as the cover image the mag chose,” proclaimed vogue28.

FashionMuseDior described the cover as “beautiful” and we couldn’t agree more.

All the February 2020 Magazine Covers We Loved and Hated

February brought us some stunning covers featuring both models and celebs. Unfortunately, it was also full of massive flops and major misses — not to mention some very odd fashion choices. Glossies are supposed to be where we turn for fashion and beauty inspo so it’s a shame when covers offer nothing but trite looks and poses.

It’s also worth noting that after all of last month’s shapely (and pregnant!) women featured on covers, including Ashley Graham’s stunning solo cover, there was next to nothing in the way of size diversity this month. And there wasn’t much in the way of racial diversity, either.

Check out the slideshow above for a look at the best and worst February 2020 covers.

10 Reasons Why Florence Pugh Is Our New Style Crush

It’s award season so we’re all about red carpet fashion. And while we’re keeping our eyes peeled for dazzling looks from some of our favorite celebs (Cate Blanchett, Lupita Nyong’o, Saoirse Ronan, Scarlett Johansson…), there’s one star we can’t wait to see on the Oscars red carpet.

British actress Florence Pugh has been thrust into the spotlight thanks to her (now Oscar-nominated) role in Little Women and we’re already captivated by her style. She manages to look sophisticated without looking older than her 24 years and whether she’s attending a premiere, appearing on a talk show or checking out a fashion show, she always seems to be dressed to impress.

The Oscars are still a few weeks away, but here are Florence’s top 10 style moments to get you hyped for her walk down the red carpet.

You Can Now Match Your Underwear to Your Lipstick

We love a good matching set. Like Khaite’s cashmere bra and cardigan made famous by Katie Holmes. But Parade just took the matchy-matchy trend up a notch by teaming some of its comfy, sustainable underwear with Bite Beauty’s lipsticks.

Most of us get a kick out of matching our bra to our underwear — even if no one else can tell they go together. And while all anyone will see is the vegan beauty brand’s vibrant lip crayon, there’s something reassuring about knowing you’re wearing the same shade down there.

There are three sets to choose from. The Cherrybomb Lip Set pairs the Re:Play Thong in Cherrybomb with Bite Beauty’s Power Move Creamy Lip Crayon in Red Velvet. Then there’s the Balloon Lip Set’s bright red combo of the thong in Balloon and the lip crayon in Negroni. Red not your thing? Go with the Bite Lip Set featuring the crayon in Açaí Smash, a dark purple shade, and the Re:Play Brief in the complementary Bite.

Parade x Bite sets are available now for $32 on Parade’s site.

Kaia Gerber, Jessica Fennix and More Are Cover Girls in Ports 1961’s Spring 2020 Campaign

You must be living under a very large rock if you don’t already know that Karl Templer and Fabien Baron are the new forces behind Ports 1961. The creative twosome debuted their first collection for the brand during London Fashion Week Spring 2020 (much to the delight of our forum members). The pair enlisted Steven Meisel to shoot the advertising campaign for the collection capturing an array of models, including Kaia Gerber, Jessica Fennix, Mona Tougaard, Abby Champion and Lys Lorente, for the retro magazine cover-inspired images.

Needless to say, the campaign was an instant hit on our forums. “Something different from the brand, I like it. Especially that they look like vintage covers,” said kokobombon.

“This is fabulous, love the magazine cover concept and the retro vibes,” echoed vogue28.

“This is what I wanted for Versace! It’s fun, classy and I love it!” praised Lola701.

“Beautiful portraits! Jessica is radiant! I love the emotion. Meisel really makes Kaia come alive,” noted GivenchyHomme.

Also sharing the same level of enthusiasm toward the campaign was McKinney: “Don’t know much about this brand, but I can certainly get behind their campaign…way better than the waste of print produced by some bigger brands.”

“Didn’t Gucci and [Glen] Luchford just do these fake cover campaigns with the brand’s logo half a year ago?” asked dodencebt.

“Who cares who did it first! We’re in the sustainable era now, it’s all about recycling anyway. I just can’t stop looking at them. This is by far my favorite campaign of the season! Will be definitely hard to beat,” aracic fired back.

Facial Essence: Your Skin’s Best Friend

glowy-skin-essence-beauty

IMAGE: IMAXTREE

A post-facial glow is something we wish would last forever and now we’ve found a way to get moisturized, glowy skin by adding one step to our skin care routine. It’s called an essence and it reminds us of a serum, except less concentrated, and it will become your skin’s best friend.

A facial essence’s texture feels much more like water than a serum and should be applied before any products in your regimen, after face washing and toning. It gives skin a boost of moisture without weighing it down and makes the rest of your skin care routine much more effective. These formulas work by gently exfoliating dead skin cells, helping with skin cell turnover and making it easy for products applied afterward to penetrate. Each essence targets a specific concern, from anti-aging to dark spots, and a little bit of this miracle product goes a long way. Daily use of the concentrate will most likely lead to enviable, dewy, lit-from-within skin. Check out our favorites below.

Wearing Dresses Over Pants Is Our New Sartorial Strategy for Surviving Winter

Layering is a must during these trying winter times. And while there are many ways to pile clothes on top of one another, we’re favoring simply slipping on dresses over pants to make it through the season.

Topping off pants with dresses is nothing new. Designers and street style stars have been doing it for a long time (with varying degrees of success), but it does demand a little bit of skill. You have to make sure your dress of choice suits your bottom half. If you’re rocking a minidress, go with high-waisted pants. Want to max out? Your pants should be longer than the hem of your dress, otherwise what’s the point?

Just make sure you place a turtleneck or thin sweater underneath your dress to protect you from the cold. Feel free to add in leggings under your pants and you can even throw a jacket on top of your outfit for real hygge vibes.

Check out the slideshow above for cool dress-pant combos you’ll get plenty of mileage out of this winter.

Target’s New Swim 2020 Campaign Is the Definition of Diversity

Target Swim 2020

Swimsuit season will be here before you know it and if you’re struggling with how you’ll look in the latest swimwear, Target is here to remind all of us that both one-pieces and bikinis are for every body. The retailer’s Swim 2020 campaign just dropped and features a diverse cast on both the racial and size fronts. The mega brand even enlisted the help of new model Jeyźa Gary who was born with a rare skin condition called ichthyosis that causes dead skin cells to accumulate in thick, dry scales.

Jeyźa revealed on her Instagram how she found out about her inclusion in the cool new campaign. She says she flew out to California on a moment’s notice and couldn’t “imagine a more perfect first booking.” We couldn’t agree more and hope more brands follow suit.

You can shop Target’s new swim collection here.
