Chanel Is the Latest Brand to Ban Exotic Skins and Fur

This year, we have seen numerous brands and designers embrace cruelty-free policies. Designers like Diane von Furstenberg and Jean Paul Gaultier (to name just a few) have vowed to go fur-free. Now, luxury brand Chanel has banned the use of fur and exotic skins, including crocodile, lizard, snake and stingray, from its collections.

Creative director of Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, told WWD, “There is a problem of supply and that was not Chanel’s business anyway. We did it because it’s in the air, but it’s not an air people imposed to us. It’s a free choice.”

It will be interesting to see which brands follow in Chanel’s shoes.

10 Foot Masks and Treatments Because Your Feet Are Killing You

The holiday hustle is REAL: malls, grocery stores, the post office, picking up and dropping off, holiday parties and events, the hunt for the right gift for that hard-to-shop-for person (last year was brutal) — you’re up and at ’em pretty much until New Year’s Day. This means by the time you put all those miles on your sweet little feet, they’re really, really mad at you. We’re talking aches and pains that seem to run all the way up and down your legs through your toes and back again. Ouch.

Which is why it seemed like the right time to create a list of our favorite foot and leg treatments for your poor, tired, aching tootsies. Take a load off and sink into some of these soothing creams and salves that will soothe both your soul and your battered soles.

Why Is This Facial Treatment Essence on Every A-Lister’s Dresser?

If you’ve been binge-watching all the A-lister beauty routines on YouTube, you’ve probably noticed a tall, opaque bottle on each of their dressers. And we couldn’t help but wonder, what is this curious “miracle water” that seems to be a hit with almost every celeb, from Kate Bosworth to Chloë Grace Moretz?

As you know, skin care essences are huge right now. They are less concentrated than serums and can be used after toner for an added layer of hydration. The SK-II Facial Treatment Essence, which has become an essential part of every celeb’s beauty regimen, is made of over 90 percent pitera — basically a combination of amino acids, essential oils and organic acids. It’s the signature ingredient in SK-II’s essence.

The essence is not just an anti-aging wonder, it also aids in skin renewal and gives an amazingly smooth texture and blemish-free skin. It leaves your skin so refreshed and glowing that you won’t need any filter on Instagram. Dianna Agron, for instance, preps her skin with the Facial Treatment Essence before her shoots and calls it the holy grail. “Gets your skin just really glowy, dewy, hydrated,” she explained in a Vogue video.

You can buy the Facial Treatment Essence on SK-II’s official site for $179.
