Spring Dresses You Can Wear NOW (and Later)

Winter‘s about to start, but that doesn’t mean spring has to stay five months away. There are ways to bring a little spring into your wardrobe before New Year’s Eve even rolls around. Whether you favor bright prints or colorful patterns, spring dresses are the best way to lift yourself out of the winter doldrums.

A great perk of winter dressing is that voluminous silhouettes and edgy layering are totally acceptable. To put it simply, there’s more room for drama. And tights in every shade of the rainbow along with boots that come to your ankles all the way up past your knees are on the table.

Check out the slideshow above to see the best spring dresses you can wear right now straight through summer. We even included a few seasonal styling tips.

New Year’s Eve — one of the most overhyped holidays of the year — is just around the corner. In other words, it’s dress shopping time. (Just because your friends won’t get it together and figure out what the hell you all are doing until the very last minute doesn’t mean you can’t have your outfit ready to go.)

Generally speaking, more is more when it comes to New Year’s Eve dressing. You want something glamorous, but not garish. Sleek, but not too simple. Something that you’ll probably only find yourself wearing once or twice a year, but whatever. It’s New Year’s Eve. Live it up.

Given that there are currently about 1,000 sparkly midis and velvet shifts floating around cyberspace and we know you’re busy last-minute holiday gift shopping/mediating a 20-texts-deep New Year’s Eve group chat, we went ahead and did the scouting for you. Click through the slideshow above for 21 perfect New Year’s Eve dresses, all designed with plus-size women in mind. Rebecca Leigh Longendyke Lands a Starring Role on Vogue Italia’s December 2019 Cover

Vogue Italia hasn’t exactly been our go-to down at the newsstand this year. Not even covers of Amber Valletta, Anok Yai, Gigi Hadid and Claudia Schiffer have sufficed. Now the magazine reveals its final offering of the year featuring January 2019’s cover girl Rebecca Leigh Longendyke. The American stunner stars in Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott’s family drama wearing Celine and Bulgari jewelry courtesy of Katy England. She’s joined by a handful of others (including supermodel Nadja Auermann) in the dramatic cover image.

The cover actually received a few rave reviews. “One of their better covers for sure. Very intriguing. Rebecca looks stunning here,” declared Marc10.

“Like a movie poster. I’m intrigued. I like it,” Lax89 chimed in.

Nomar was also a fan: “I love the satirical vibe of this. It looks really good.”

Although the cover wasn’t for everyone. “Honestly, would never in my life be able to tell this was shot by Mert and Marcus,” proclaimed dontbeadrag.

“No one could,” replied Melancholybaby. “Looks like the poster of a film where a family gathers for a Christmas meal/some sort of celebration and all sorts of drama and revelations ensue. And why is Nadja playing second fiddle to these nobodies?”

“I love Rebecca and she looks gorgeous, but the cover just isn’t working. It’s ugly, it’s messy, the people behind look so cheap and horrible, especially the girl in tartan that looks like your goth cousin who hates everyone. It’s all way too Vogue Ukraine for me,” complained aracic.

Nicole Kidman Looks ‘Stiff’ on Tatler’s Questionable January 2020 Cover

Throughout 2019, Nicole Kidman has been a fixture down on newsstands. The Aussie actress has covered everything from Vanity Fair to InStyle to Vogue Australia to W over the last 12 months and we expect the trend to continue in 2020. The Bombshell star starts the new year off by making a regal return to the cover of Tatler for January (her last appearance served up plenty of vintage glamour on the title’s July 2018 cover). Photographed by Jack Waterlot and styled by Sophie Pera, Nicole looks like she’s in an 18th century painting wearing a top hat from Lock & Co. teamed with a blazer and white shirt from Fendi in the stylized cover shot.

But something was way off. “Looks so stiff!” proclaimed Srdjan.

“Very stiff!” mikel chimed in.

“Welcome to Madame Tussauds,” joked jaybee0605.

“Oh my! Just take the picture and show the lady where the bathroom is! I mean come on, Kidman used to be one of the best cover stars, but I guess this is what happens when you do your 300th cover…you’re just over it!” declared Miss Dalloway.

“The devil works hard, but Nicole’s publicist works harder,” added MON.

A handful of forum members liked what they saw. “I doubt that it was deliberate, but I like the way she looks as artificial as one of the stiff figures you’d see in historical art, like she’s just stepped out of the painting behind her,” said tigerrouge.

“Stiff, tense, awkward, but I still love how perfect this is for Tatler. Everything except Nicole’s face is a plus, love the background, the styling and how each element complements one another. I sure am keen to see more!” shared vogue28.

Check out Nicole’s accompanying cover feature and share your thoughts here.

Stunning Pearl Rings a la Emma Stone You Don’t Have to Get Engaged to Enjoy

A post shared by @ davemccary on

Celebrity engagements are nothing new. In 2019 alone, Jennifer Lopez said “yes” to Alex Rodriguez, Orlando Bloom asked Katy Perry for her hand, Scarlett Johansson agreed to marry Colin Jost and Emma Stone announced her engagement to Dave McCary. While these are all high-profile couples, Emma’s engagement grabbed lots of headlines all thanks to her ring.

Her fiancé popped the question with a dazzling pearl ring. Pearls are once again popular among the fashion set with pearl jewelry and even hair accessories currently trending. And while Emma’s pearl stunner probably cost a pretty penny, you don’t have to break the bank to slip one on your finger(s).

Not convinced? Well, we went ahead and rounded up a variety of pearl rings that fit every style and budget.
