Vogue Hong Kong Celebrates Its Anniversary With a Little Help From Kate Moss

It’s hard to believe that Vogue Hong Kong has been on the market for four years now. Since its inaugural issue featuring Gigi Hadid and Fei Fei Sun on a trio of covers, the publication has commanded our attention by also bringing us Hailey Bieber, Bella Hadid and Kylie Jenner. Just last month the magazine gave us a handful of modeling’s finest. Now the mag is marking its four-year milestone for March 2021 and what better way to celebrate than by booking modeling royalty Kate Moss? Photographed by Luigi & Iango and styled by Patti Wilson, the iconic Brit beauty stars on two print covers (below) and on the digital alternative (after the jump) sporting her signature smoky eyes, tousled locks and looks from Prada’s Spring 2021 collection.

For the majority of our forum members, the covers fell flat. “HAHAHA. Vogue Hong Kong’s art direction will never fail to appall me. An utter disaster! These look cheap. Very cheap,” proclaimed MON.

Benn98 wasn’t buying it, either. “This is such a 2010 approach to the big fashion issue. Years ago a cover like this would have gotten all the praise purely because it’s Kate Moss with Brigitte Bardot styling.”

“Been there, done that. I love Kate, I really do, but this is just another Photoshopped to death shoot and everyone knows what the editorial looks like because they all look the same,” said annikad.

“I love Kate, but the excessive use of Photoshop is insulting my intelligence…” stated Serend1pity.

Srdjan wasn’t feeling the outcome: “If they wanted a 20 years younger version of Kate, why didn’t they just use Lila Moss?”

But not everyone was disappointed. “I’ll never complain at the sight of Kate Moss! Add Luigi & Iango to the combination and it’s a jackpot in my book,” praised aracic.

“I love it. Luigi & Iango delivered as usual,” applauded avonlea002.

“Unfortunate styling and effort, but not gonna complain. I will always enjoy anything Kate Moss,” approved dontbeadrag.

Only a Couple of Hits and Many Misses at Milan Fashion Week Fall 2021

Milan Fashion Week Fall 2021 has come to an end. Some brands held runway shows sans audiences. While others presented their collections digitally. Regardless, there were plenty of buzzworthy looks from the designers showing in Italy’s fashion headquarters.

The week started off with Kim Jones making his ready-to-wear debut at Fendi. Fausto Puglisi also presented his first collection for Roberto Cavalli. At Max Mara, Ian Griffiths took inspiration from Queen Elizabeth II offering quilted gilets, tartan skirts and headscarves. Jeremy Scott created two digital showcases for Moschino featuring numerous models, including Amber Valletta and Shalom Harlow.

We were soon digesting the second Prada offering from Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada, which was basically a reinterpretation of the fashion house’s signatures. Pierpaolo Piccioli gave us a mostly black Valentino collection, while Dolce & Gabbana gave us pops of color.

The Best Street Style Courtesy of Milan Fashion Week Fall 2021

There’s no denying our obsession with street style. While New York, London and Paris always deliver, we have a soft spot for Milan. That’s because Italy’s fashion headquarters offers up a wonderful mix of sophistication and edge. And Milan Fashion Week Fall 2021 street style was no exception.

Over in London, the street style set was all about comfort this season. In Milan, obviously comfy yet polished coats and blazers were the main attraction. There was also a fair share of crop tops providing strategic pops of skin underneath the aforementioned outerwear.

Just like across the pond, boots and sneakers were the footwear of choice. But the bags really caught our attention. From a knotted Bottega Veneta number to a mini Prada coin purse, there was lots to lust after.

Rianne Van Rompaey and Steven Meisel Make One Dynamic Duo for Ports 1961’s Spring 2021 Campaign

We’ve been obsessing over Ports 1961 ever since Fabien Baron and Karl Templer took over the label back in 2019. Not only are the collections stellar, but the accompanying advertising campaigns are just as captivating. Of course the latter’s mainly due to the involvement of Steven Meisel. Since Spring 2020, Meisel’s campaigns (starring everyone from Kaia Gerber to Sacha Quenby) have been nothing short of spectacular. Ports 1961’s latest ads are no exception. Enter forum favorite Rianne Van Rompaey posing before a gray backdrop making a strong case for bleached eyebrows while striking dynamic poses in the crisp Spring 2021 campaign images.

The campaign got plenty of attention on our forums. “The close-up portrait is terrific. Ports 1961 campaigns have become a highlight of each season since they started working with Meisel. A wise decision, wish more would follow suit!” heralded aracic.

“I was going to say that I hated the eyebrows until I saw the portrait… Creepy and I love it!” praised kokobombon.

“Rianne teaching the amateurs how it’s done! Steven’s obsession for her is everything I need right now,” raved GERGIN.

Forum member vogue28 was equally thrilled with the outcome: “Assuming this was photographed by Meisel remotely, the results are far superior than that of Louis Vuitton‘s Alma handbag campaign! This is a thousand times better, far sleeker and more sophisticated. The black and white, styling efforts and sole casting of Rianne do wonders.”

“Rianne in a league of her own as always. Can’t think of anyone in the top five highest paid models who could do this…” voiced Serend1pity.

Christian Dior’s Spring 2021 Campaign Resembles Renaissance Artwork

We clearly have a love/hate relationship with Christian Dior. Can you blame us? After all, we’ve endured several disappointing collections. In addition to some questionable campaigns. On the other hand, Maria Grazia Chiuri undoubtedly gave us Dior’s best campaign in years. Nevertheless, we keep looking forward to what the brand has to offer. Finally the Spring 2021 campaign is here. Inspired by Italian artist Caravaggio, Elina Kechicheva captures a bevy of models, including Holly Fischer, Judith Frament, Maryel Uchida along with Sculy Mejia.

The unquestionably striking images surprised our forum members. “Finally! Something at Dior that works a bit in their favor,” applauded an obviously impressed zoom.

“Not the most original idea, but the photography is quite exquisite,” confessed Ken Doll Jenner.

WAVES absolutely agreed: “It’s a very smart way to make the clothes look good and I do love the Renaissance mood and environment.”

The beauty was pretty bold at last night’s 2021 Golden Globes. Which is just the way we like it. From unconventional red lips to elegant waves, there was certainly lots to love.

Andra Day combined a diffused lip and a curly bun. Julia Garner’s dynamic lashes were truly eye-catching. Cynthia Erivo’s eyes were the focus of her look thanks to amethyst liner. Anya Taylor-Joy’s long blond locks (almost) upstaged her gorgeous gown.

But wait, there’s more. Lily Collins’ two-tone smoky eyes smoldered. Amanda Seyfried’s retro waves were the height of glamour. And Shira Haas rocked an imperfect bun along with a borderline coral pout.
