101 Phenomenal Pre-Fall 2020 Looks to Tide You Over till the Fall 2020 Shows

The pre-fall collections are often overlooked since they’re revealed during the holiday season. While a few brands (Chanel, Moschino, Giorgio Armani) showcased their latest offerings on the runway, the majority shared their wares in lookbook format. And just like the fall and spring collections, there were some definite trends.

There was plenty of plaid, but buffalo plaid proved the most popular. Tie-dye is still going strong, though it’s been slightly usurped by more dramatic ombre prints. Satin also popped up frequently — sometimes solo, other times with eye-grabby graphics. And there was a stellar selection of suits fit for work or a wedding.

Scroll through the slideshow above to see the most impressive looks the Pre-Fall 2020 collections have to offer.

These Stylish Stocking Stuffers Will Rival Any Gifts Under the Tree

While we can’t wait to unwrap the biggest gifts under the tree, sometimes the best gifts come in small packages — and in your stocking. Stocking stuffers can be just as exciting as any other present, if you know what you’re doing. In other words, keep it chic, not cheap. Skip a No. 2 pencil in favor of a luxury lip liner. Instead of fancy mini chocolates, treat your loved one to a few dazzling hair accessories. And makeup brushes make for great stocking stuffers.

Ready to start shopping? Look through the slideshow above to see some stylish stocking stuffers any fashionista will love.

Over the years, “extra special” has come to mean “ultra high wattage,” but we understand that full-on sequins isn’t everyone’s cup of champagne. Claudia Schiffer Wears Vintage Chanel on Vogue Russia’s January 2020 Cover

Our forum members are all for the return of 90s supermodels to the covers of our favorite fashion glossies and over recent months Naomi Campbell and Christy Turlington have been reminding us of the good old days. Now, following an appearance on Vogue Italia’s August 2019 issue, Claudia Schiffer is Vogue Russia’s January 2020 cover star. A longtime favorite of Karl Lagerfeld, Claudia pays subtle tribute to the legendary designer in the Cuneyt Akeroglu-shot cover photo wearing a red leather jacket from Chanel’s Fall 1992 collection (which she modeled on the runway).

But something was off with the cover, at least according to our forum members. “Why did they use this picture for the cover?” mikel asked the moment the cover dropped.

“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with Claudia’s face so not sure why Vogue Russia chose this image. I actually like the actual image, but not as a cover,” declared Benn98.

“Oh Claudia…first Vogue Italia, now this? They’re really doing her dirty with all these nasty covers. A lovely image, but certainly not for a cover,” echoed aracic.

KissMiss shared the same sentiment: “Slightly weird image for the cover, but I like the image.”

“It’s a real shame Claudia’s face is barely visible in this because I would’ve been willing to shout from the rooftops about it. What an odd angle for a cover, completely ruins it for me and I loathe how the ‘O’ is missing entirely from the Vogue masthead,” critiqued vogue28.

“This is what you get when you’re already done with the shoot and at the same time are contractually bound to promote ‘Vogue Values‘. Slap on the tagline even without any correlation to the cover,” noted MON.

Check out some previews of Claudia’s cover shoot and see which photo should’ve been the cover here.

Hailey Bieber Looks ‘Poised and Elegant’ on Vogue Hong Kong’s December 2019 Covers

Ever since it landed on newsstands back in March, Vogue Hong Kong hasn’t exactly been doing well on our forums and not even covers with Irina Shayk, Rihanna or Adwoa Aboah have managed to create a whole lot of buzz. Now the magazine picks Hailey Bieber, fresh off the cover of Vogue Australia, to star on two covers for its December issue. Photographed by Cass Bird and styled by Anya Ziourova, the all-American beauty and current face of Calvin Klein serves good face on cover one (below) and sits perched on the studio floor wearing Max Mara for cover two (after the jump).

According to our forum members, Hailey’s portfolio just keeps getting better. “Truly gorgeous. She looks poised and elegant,” raved KINGofVERSAILLES the moment the covers dropped.

“The best she’s ever looked,” echoed marsnoop2.

“Recently Hailey’s covers keep improving and she’s growing on me,” confessed russianelf.

In the same frame of mind was vogue28: “The first cover is certainly the most compelling of the two. Hailey can photograph beautifully and this is a prime example. Love the angle of the profile shot, the hat, the sleek ponytail, the muted tones of the makeup and bare shoulders. I cannot fault it.”

“Surprisingly, she is actually turning out to be an OK cover girl. Generic, but OK,” approved Miss Dalloway.

“Prefer the second cover even if the red and green feel a tad literal for Christmas. She looks great, her best cover yet,” proclaimed Benn98.

“Quite like both of these, she looks good,” said tipi1355.

Give Your Skin Care Routine a Boost With These Ferulic Acid-Enhanced Products

Your skin care routine probably already includes products containing hyaluronic, glycolic, lactic and salicylic acids. But there’s one acid your regimen is most likely missing: ferulic acid. You can find the powerful antioxidant hidden inside the cell walls of plants to protect and preserve those structures. And it can basically do the same thing for our skin.

It protects our complexions from all those free radicals out there and can even improve the signs of aging (we’re talking fine lines and wrinkles). To get the most out of your ferulic acid, look for products that pair it with vitamins C and E because it helps those vitamins work better. Known as a great stabilizer, it actually makes the other products in your routine work harder and last longer. (But if your skin is super sensitive, ferulic acid may not be for you.)

Now that you know the deal, check out the slideshow above for the best ferulic acid products.
