We all know by now that animal prints are considered neutrals. That’s because they go with literally everything. But the fierce patterns are frequently reserved for fall and winter. (Probably thanks to their darker hues.) Just like wearing white after Labor Day, not sporting animal prints in warmer months is one of those fashion rules we encourage breaking. Luckily, there are plenty of summer animal prints out there.
Leopard is often the go-to when it comes to classic animal prints. But it’s far from the only option. We found summer-worthy pieces in snake, tiger, zebra and even cow, ocelot and giraffe. Feel free to stick with the patterns in their natural forms. But don’t be afraid to try more colorful interpretations boasting bright blue, sunny yellow, pastel purple and more.
On the fabric front, you want to look for ones that’ll help you keep cool. Cotton, linen, satin, silk and polyester are all easy-breezy picks. We recommend sticking with one print per outfit. In other words, don’t wear leopard from head to toe and don’t team tiger with zebra to avoid conflict.
