Vincetta
Notch Blazer in Black & White, $368 at Vincetta
This ready-to-wear brand is taking luxe normcore to a different dimension. It's proudly a part of the slow fashion movement and all about helping you find your core aesthetic. We are in awe of Vincetta's minimalist relaxed pantsuits and you will be, too, once you check them out.
Saks Potts
Yvonne Coat, $1,525 at Shopbop
North West is wearing it so you know it has arrived. The Copenhagen-based brand launched by Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts has given us some of the quirkiest palettes when it comes to pastels and muted colors. Nobody does colorful coats better and if you buy one coat this winter, make it a Saks Potts.
Wildfang
The Empower Vest, $68 at Wildfang
Those Wild Feminist tees you keep seeing on Instagram are the creation of this size-inclusive brand that's taking tomboy chic to another level. If you're looking for tailored androgynous clothing up to 2XL, you're looking for Wildfang. The woke fast fashion brand's numbers are designed to come to your rescue during those down days when you've been on Twitter for more than four hours.
Laurs Kemp
Cassidy Pants in Red, $280 at Laurs Kemp
Portland, Oregon-based label Laurs Kemp is the sustainable, vintage, cinema-inspired brand that needs to be on your radar. It's all about zero waste and responsible repurposing and the brand even sells on Instagram. It's all about cheeky elegance and its Portland store called Shampoo (basically a studio space) sells reworked vintage pieces and classic interiors.
TomboyX
Eco-friendly, size-inclusive underwear designed for all gender expressions — have we said enough? TomboyX's agenda page is one of the most interesting things you'll come across this week since it screams "We are all people." The kind of underwear that makes you feel good about your body, the brand is all about breathable, wearable underwear that just lets you be. It also has really cool multipacks we are adding to our carts right now.

This season, don’t shop for a wardrobe, shop for an aesthetic. You can pick your own thing — be it sustainability, radical normcore, politically charged clothing or just relaxed pantsuits. Yes, picking all four is an option. But it’s time to leave out the oh-so-popular brands with those mass-produced snakeskin skirts and switch to newer, more hardworking labels.
Fast fashion has had an incredible evolution in the last few years and has only got more inclusive with up-and-coming brands adding their global cred to the industry. Brands like Réalisation Par and N°21 are now almost mainstream owing to their massive success and runway hits. There are other labels redefining androgyny, making strides in size inclusivity, giving sustainable fashion a go and at the same time working Instagram like stars.
For your holiday wardrobe, skip Zara and Topshop and look at other more diverse labels. Preferably ones that stock more than one silhouette. There, we said it. Here are the best indie brands you need to pay attention to STAT.
