We’ve been huge advocates of Jeremy Scott ever since he brilliantly tapped Steven Meisel to photograph Moschino’s campaigns back in 2014. The legendary lensman and forum favorite has continued to make Scott’s kitschy collections look expensive, luxurious and even more covetable than they appear on the runway. The campaigns are often a gateway to something fabulously OTT, like last season’s ads featuring Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid as glamazons from outer space — something we certainly don’t see every season.
For Spring 2019, Scott casts Vittoria Ceretti, Fran Summers, Adut Akech, Meghan Collison and Bella Hadid to model ladylike glam against a studio backdrop that complements each look, styled by Carlyne Cerf de Dudzeele.
For our forum members with high expectations, however, the campaign was a total flop. “Please don’t tell me this is going to be the style of the entire campaign. Zero effort. It’s like someone made it in Paint. If they wanted to play on the drawing theme, they could have gotten an artist to draw an entire campaign off of real shots with models. It would have been incredible,” commented dodencebt.
“You have a TERRIFIC collection and deliver a bullshit campaign like this one?” slammed helmutnotdead.
“Disappointing result. Lately I’ve been really excited and looking forward to the Moschino campaigns, but this is SO boring. You have such a fun collection, great models, Steven Meisel, and this is what you do?” asked guimon.

“LMAO, this is the most overexposed and overrated cast of models in one campaign I’ve ever seen! I’m out,” artemovartem said.
“On a budget?” questioned Conbothsides, suggesting the campaign was missing a certain something.
Perickles clearly felt the same to way: “Fun collection, boring campaign, looks very low-budget!”
Also quick to call out everyone involved was GivenchyHomme. “They thought something simple and effective would do the trick. What they didn’t realize is that something so basic requires a strong model to sell it. Where is Naomi Campbell or Christy? Was Yasmin Warsame also unavailable? These newbies are trying, but the only one giving something is Bella,” he said.
